Facilities of Village Court
Facilities of village court Both civil and criminal disputes up to three lakh rupees are settled in village courts. Disputes are settled in village courts in a short time, at low cost and very easily. Both the applicant and the respondent can appoint a judge of their choice. 
As the evidence is close at hand, the petitioner and the respondent cannot easily conceal anything. Faster resolution means less chance of spillover from one dispute to another. As the dispute is settled through mediation in the village court, the relationship between the petitioner and the respondent is maintained.
Justice is available for a criminal case fee of Rs.10/- and a civil case fee of Rs.20/-. Appointment of lawyers is prohibited in village courts
